We return from a week break to a solid slate of action with a handful of opportunities so let’s get to it.
Veronica Hardy vs Jamey-Lyn Horth Wessels:
It’s difficult predict how this fight will take shape but i feel confident in one thing at least in this match up and that is that Wessels should have a solid strength advantage. She went up to 135 in her debut to win a close fight vs a very strong Hailey Cowan. Now she returns to 125 to fight against Hardy who doesn’t have the best frame for fighting. Wessels should have her choice of dictating where the fight goes. I think she likely can rack up easy top time or bully Hardy against the cage. Fear here is Hardy can outclass Wessels striking and stay more active but it’s a risk I’m taking a stab at here.

Miesha Tate vs Julia Avila:
This has red flags all over the place for Avila coming off injury and pregnancy but assuming she’s returning to the cage as her prior self, she should be able to batter Tate with ease in my view. Tate is a bit lost coming off a loss after going down a weight class. Avila looks stronger, faster, has more power in her punches. The tactical danger here is Avila has shown a bit of foolishness grappling in the past which Tate could exploit. However, assuming Avila can show her past athletic ability here, I think she gets a W.
The pick: Avila 1u -155 BUT WAIT UNTIL WEIGHINS TO CONFIRM SHE DOESN’T LOOK TERRIBLY OUT OF SHAPE!!!!!
Rob Font vs Deiveson Figueiredo:
I’m rolling with Rob Font here exclusively because I think Deiveson going up to bantamweight is a mistake. Deiveson has great power and strength at Flyweight but he doesn’t have the most decision friendly style. So, if he can’t rely on weight bullying opponents anymore, I’m struggling to see a path to victory. Font is well rounded, good but not great anywhere, but I believe he has the tools and size to get his hand raised in this bout.
